So, the person observing fasting should avoid sexual relation with his wife and should not behave foolishly and impudently, and if somebody fights with him or abuses him, he should tell him twice, 'I am fasting.'

The Prophet(s.a.w.) added, "By Him in Whose Hand my soul is, the smell coming out from the mouth of a fasting person is better in the sight of Allah than the smell of musk. So I will reward (the fasting person) for it and the reward of good deeds is multiplied ten times." [Bukhari]

Physical Illness:

Narrated on the authority of Abu Sa'id al-Khudry(May Allah be pleased with him) : Some of the Sahabah of the Prophet(peace be upon him) came across one of the Arab tribes, but they refused to extend to them hospitality.

Then the leader of that tribe was stung. So they asked (the Sahabah), "Do you have any remedy or someone who can recite supplications over the sick as a cure?" They said, "You refused to offer us hospitality, so we will not do anything until you give us something in return." And they agreed on a flock of sheep, so one of them (the Sahabah) started reciting Umm al-Quran (Surah al-Fatihah); gathering his saliva and spitting on it (the snake-bite), and the man got cured.

Then they brought the sheep, but they (the Sahabah) said, "We will not take them until we ask the Prophet (whether it is lawful)." When they asked him, he smiled and said, "How do you know that it (Surah al-Fatihah) is a Ruqyah? Take them (the sheep) and assign a share for me."  [Bukhari]

Spiritual Illness:

Narrated on the authority of Sayyidiatina 'Aisya (r.a): A Jew from among the Jews of Banu Zuraiq who was called  Labid b. al-A'sam cast spell upon Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) with the result that he (under the influence of the spell) felt that he had been doing something whereas in fact he had not been doing that. (This state affairs lasted) until one day or during one night, Allah's Messenger (s.a.w) made supplications (to dispell its effect).

He again made a supplication and he again did this as said to Sayyidatina 'Aisya(r.a): Do you know that Allah has told me what I had asked Him? There came to me two men(the Angels) and one amongst them sat near my head and the other one near my feet and who sat near my head said to one who sat near my feet or one who sat near my feet said to one who sat near my head:

"What is trouble with the man? He said: The spell has affected him. He said: Who has cast that? He (the other one) said: It was Labid bin A'sam (who has done it). He said: What is the thing by which he transmitted its effect? He said: By the comb and by the hair stuck to the comb(of Allah's Messenger) and the spathe of the date-palm. He said: Where is that? He replied: In the well of Dhi Arwan."

She (Sayyidatina 'Aisya) said: Allah's Messenger (s.a.w.) sent some of the persons from among his companions there and then said:

"Oh 'Aisya, by Allah, its water was yellow like henna and its trees were like heads of the devils. She said that she asked Allah's Messenger (s.a.w.) as to why he did not burn that. He said: No, Allah has cured me and I do not like that I should induce people to commit any high-handedness in regard (to one another), but I only commanded that it should be buried. [Muslim]

Conclusion
  • Always seek protection from Allah because we, man, are naturally weak.
لا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله
(There is no Power nor Might except with/by Allah)
  • Take Ghosts, Jinns and Syaitan seriously.(One of the pillar of Iman: Believe in the unseen)
  • Have YAQIN in seeking protections from Allah. (That Allah will definitely protect you)
  • No Yaqin -> No Protections -> Less Iman -> Syaitan happy and starts to befriend.
Supplication of some of Ruqyah verses in al-Quran to protect one heart and mind:

  1. Al-Fatihah
  2. Ayatul Qursi
  3. Surah al-Ikhlas, al-Falaq, an-Nas
  4. Surah al-Baqarah ayat 1-5 and ayat 102

May Allah (the Exalted) protects us from any evil internally and externally.
May Allah reward Ustaz Muslim for inviting us for his usrah session.

In-sya'Allah, May all of you gain benefits from reading this article with Allah's blessings. (:
