This year, NYPMS Network had our iftar at Al-Huda mosque again. Though the turnout is not as big compared to last year, I find it just as meaningful. We gathered at Al-Muttaqin mosque to where we did our zohor prayers and waited for the rest of the participants.
First up was, ice-breaking games. I enjoyed the game where we get to share the meaning of one another's name. We had to make up a storyline with our names. I personally felt the guys did a better job than the girls.
After more games, we did our Asar prayers.
Next up was the interactive syarahan by Ustaz Irwan Hadi with the topic of The Spirit of Al-Quran. I liked the way Ustaz presented the topic. He managed to lay the topic systematicly that I remained engaged throughout. I would have wanted more but time was not on our side.
It was followed by a mass tilawathon. Led by brother Azmi and brother Asyraf, we recited the surah Al-'Alaq till An-Nas. This year we got something better than T-shirts. We gave out translation of the Al-Quran to the participants. (Rajin2lah baca... jangan tolak satu corner jer)
Before we know it, it was time for iftar. A light iftar, maghrib prayers then followed by the main course. A nice serving of Nasi Ambeng. We proceeded on with our Isyak prayers, tarawih and witr.
Thank you to our advisors who came down, the participants and our friends from the other tertiaries. Hope that the event was memorable for everyone.
Let's keep on the spirit of the Al-Quran high in this blessed month of Ramadhan and months after it. I shall end with, "The best among you are those who learn the Quran and teach it to others."
